Todorov's Theory of Narritve Development
Beginning ~ 1) Equilibrium ~ a normal for the Character(s)
~ 2) Disruption ~ Something happens to disrupt the "norm"
Middle ~ 3) Recognition ~ Recognition of the disruption
~ 4) Attempt to resolve ~ tries to fix the problem but usually doesn't
work. Then eventually it works
~ 5)Resolution ~ The character(s) resolve the disruption
End ~ 6) New Equilibrium ~ The character(s) find a new normal but things can
never be the same
~ 2) Disruption ~ Something happens to disrupt the "norm"
Middle ~ 3) Recognition ~ Recognition of the disruption
~ 4) Attempt to resolve ~ tries to fix the problem but usually doesn't

Example:
Hercules
1) Equilibrium - Hercules is a extremely strong, extremely clumsy farm boy
2) He finds out that he is adopted
3) He find Zeus is his dad and to join him he needs to become a true hero, goes to Phill to train
4) He defeats lots of enemies and saves the city many times, but its still not enough to become a true hero
5) He risks his life to save Meg without his super strength
6) He becomes a God but declines to be with Meg
