The Godfather review (1972) If I could drescribe the Godfather in two words it would be "incohearent disaster". My main problem with the alleged 5 star hit from 1972 is its nonsesical narritive. There seems to be 100 irrelivent plot points and i found it hard to follow as the narritive would be compleatly abandond and a whole new one picked up. Absoleutly no emtional connection or backstory was given to any of the characters which made the film feel so shallow and rushed, when some of the "important" characters died for example when Marlon Brandos character died, THE LITTERAL orginal godfather i felt absolutley nothing at all, and to be honest I felt so bored I fast foward the magority of the scene.  I found AL Pacino (Michael's) character arch to be devastatingly disapointing. I understand he wanted nothing to do with the business and was agasint it but the attemped murder of his father drove the primal instict for revenge out of his pure inoccent so...

On a recent particularly rainy day me and my dad sat down and watched the 2019 horror/mystery "Midsommar".  My dad thought it was too long and too boring and that it didn't make any sense. However, I thought that it was a very clever film that normalised what was happening. Once it had finished I reflected on how the outrageous and graphic some of the scenes were, I felt as though while watching it everything is done subtly and the "anti" is slowly upped so that in real time I felt less shocked or felt that some how these steps were rational in a way.  I also really enjoyed the juxtaposition of the naturalistic imagery of flowers and fields and cliffs and stone to the violent imagery of blood and suicide and graphic death. (Levi Strauss theory of binary opposites). I loved how they kept the audience guessing and left/revealed little clues and hints along the way so that in the end it all "made sense", I liked how the end left the audience wanting ...

I have volunteered to help the Mathew Project in creating a none smoking campaign with a few of classmates. In is post I would like to document my experience in my first paid work. Our fist meeting: In the meeting we decided the role of everyone and came up with a rough story board. My role was Costume and hair and make-up. We decided to keep the story short as to not lose the attention of the younger target audience. We were going to flick between two perspectives, that of the smoker (cool) and the watcher (smoker looks silly). We also decided to include a skateboard to emphasise his lack of popularity. Our Second meeting: In this one we did a casting call for actors. We choose a classmates of our skater as he had a skateboard and the appropriate clothes. Over the next few meetings we travelled into Wymondham to film the video and then we edited the footage together but we thought a voice over would best suit the video. I was not the biggest fan of Lion King growing up. For me it was ruined by a boy in my class who was obsessed with the film and used to run around pretending he was a hyena. But now that that boy is just a distant memory my love for the film has grown, as has my appreciation. I was highly antcipating the release of the new lion king, after seeing the new Aladdin revamp and loving it even more than the original (which is in my top 5 Disney film of all time). Me and my Mother were sat at the back anticipating this alleged film of the year. The Circle of Life music erupted into the cinema and filled our hearts with joy. My eyes started to well with tears, the music combined with the beautiful animation was overwhelming to the soul. Then they spoke... This remake takes everything that was good about the original and takes a big steamy dump all over it. I understand that the shots and animation where more realistic but if I wanted to watch some animals run about in the desert for 2 ho...

On Thursday the 19th of September me and my friends went to Odeon Cinema and watched IT Chapter Two. Me, not being much of a horror movie buff, had not seen the first film, however I feel that this did not effect my understanding of the story. So, there we were hands buried in the popcorn lips pursed around a straw gingerly sucking up our tango ice blast ready for the scare of a life time. Never in my life have I been so petrified and so much in hysterics at the same time. Watching the film in a cinema only bettered the experience, the audience laughed together and screamed together we came out feeling closer, like the characters in the film, because we had all gone through the experience together. This film gives an unique experience to the viewer like none other before it. A Horror film where you don't laugh at the poor acting or over dramatic facial expressions.
